  • Board Member Spotlight

    Mark Vliem, owner of M. Vliem & Associates, has been the Treasurer for the SPE West Michigan Section since 2008. He has been involved in the plastics industry since 1985, primarily with tier-one suppliers to the auto industry. Mark has held management positions in production management, logistics, purchasing, continuous improvement, sales, and marketing.
    In 2003, Mark started M. Vliem & Associates, a manufacturing rep sales group focusing on the capital equipment side of plastics and has a total of three sales professionals. With his wide range of past experiences and knowledge of plastic processing equipment, Mark fully understands the demands a plastic processor faces every day and can provide equipment solutions that make economic sense and fits within the technical scope of the customer.

    • Haitian for all electric, servo hydraulic, hydraulic and two platen injection molding machines.

The SPE Golf Outing 2012

It’s time once again for the Best Golf Outing in Western Michigan!  The Western Michigan Society of Plastics Engineers Annual Golf Outing is scheduled for Monday, September 10 at the Thornapple Pointe Golf Club.

This outing is a great opportunity to enjoy the beautiful West Michigan weather at one of the best golf venues in the area, all while networking with colleagues in the plastics industry AND, most importantly, supporting the education of our future engineers.  As you may or may not know, all the proceeds from this golf outing go toward scholarships to local engineering students, as well as toward grants to local high schools and colleges to support their plastics education programs.

Many of you have first hand knowledge of the continuing challenge in finding qualified candidates for engineering positions in the plastics field.  This is your opportunity to help remedy this situation.  Please sign up a foursome or two right now for this great event and consider sponsoring a hole for $100 or whatever amount is comfortable for you.

The event is not limited to SPE members.
